Quick de-brief on the Santa Fe tour, from our President, as of 5/24/04:

Apparently everyone is home safe and sound by now. What a fantastic trip we had.....................4 days of near perfect weather, beautiful scenery, great roads to drive, good food and the opportunity to enjoy the company of so many enthusiastic and wonderful people.

Our thanks again to the planners and also to the members who participated, without them, there is nothing to plan for.

It looks like our spring multi day tour for 2005 will be 5 days in Colorado as we hook up with the Colorado Z3 contingent as our hosts. The planning is already in the works.

Thanks again to everyone...............it really is much more than just the cars, isn't it ??

Cheers Paul E.

Here is an update as of 5/9/04

As usual, thanks to Mike Hunt for his great job on these guides/attachments.  Click below to open the attachments - make sure you print these out and have them in your car.

I guess everyone is aware we have 16 cars signed up for the tour, 14 from here and 2 joining us from Colorado, a couple of my customers. They will be bringing some maps, info and materials from their area in Colorado with the hopes of interesting us in an extended tour to their area in the spring of 2005. Naturally, they would be joining with us on that drive should we decide to plan for it.

Latest information as of 03/02/04.  - Now have hotel information for all three nights.  Click HERE for the Excel file with details.

Dates: Friday, May 21st, 2004 through Monday, May 24th, 2004

Hotel arrangements:

Friday night 5/21/04 near Grants.  We'll be at the Sky City Casino and Hotel near Grants. They will supply all night security for our cars at no charge and room rates of $52. They will also arrange an isolated area for our Friday night group dinner and the casino is available for entertainment (we plan to lock Cindy in her room).  We have block booked 15 rooms so please call in and make your own reservations. The number is 1.888.759.2489 and ask for booking under the BMW Z3 Club. These group rates are only available through 4/22/04.  FYI the facility is located north of I-40 at the 102 exit approximately 20 miles east of Grants. This deal was just too good to pass up.

Saturday night 5/22/04 stay in TaosBest Western Kachina Lodge 505-758-2275 or 1.800.522.4462.  This hotel is less than four blocks from the Taos Plaza and three blocks from the Apple Tree Restaurant. We will not have to find any parking in Old Taos. We can leave our cars in the hotel parking lot. The club rate is $69.00 per room. This rate includes a hot breakfast. No AAA or other discounts apply. I’ve set aside 15 rooms. Also, at the hotel are an outside swimming pool and a spa. Reservations must be made by April 22, 2004. The rate is for Arizona BMW Z3 Club.  The Apple Tree Restaurant will set up a separate room for us Saturday night at 6:30. We will be ordering off the menu.

Sunday 5/23 we plan to stay in Belen at the Best Western.  Belen is about 30 miles south of Albuquerque.  Club members can call (505) 861-3181 and make reservations. Ask for the Arizona BMW Z-3 Club rate. The rate is $59.95 per room, with two queen beds for up to 4 people per room. Don't think we'll be sharing, but ya never know.  They have in room microwaves, coffee, irons & hair dryers. There is a restaurant within walking distance.  They have a small parking lot, but they will designate the back area of the hotel for us, and there is also ample parking at a private facility next door.

Monday 5/24 depart Belen for the return trip and lunch in Show Low...... We will be having lunch at Licano's in Show Low. I estimate 1 PM subject to revision later. FYI the phone number there is 1 928 537 8220 and the address is 571 West Deuce of Clubs, Show Low, AZ  This is the main drag.

We'll be sending out more details as we make decisions for the balance of the trip. I'm still working on a suitable place for lunch in the Show Low area on our Monday return. Everybody on the committee has been busy gathering information and working out details. Our Esteemed Club VP Mike Breslin has ordered and received Chamber of Commerce booklets from Taos, Santa Fe and Albuquerque. We will arrange to get these in your hands when we can.

These are the members who have signed on so far. We would like to get additional participants so we encourage the rest of you to get on board. Due to our creative routing, the scenery on this trip will be spectacular. Please notify me if you decide to join in. Currently: O'Connell, Jackson, Johnson, Hunt, Dunn, Ebeyer, Sobelman, Breslin, Taylor, Blezenski. Again, the dates are Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday, May 21,22,23,24
