THE NEXT CLUB DRIVE WILL BE ON SATURDAY JULY
19TH TO
AUGIE’S GRILL IN PRESCOTT
Our last club tour was on Saturday June 21st
to the Belfry Grill in Cottonwood. Our next scheduled tour is
August 16th to Show Low at the
Cattleman’s
Steakhouse
for dinner.
Since our upcoming group dinner at Dillons is
July 4th, and our next scheduled drive is August 16th,
it is too wide a spread between actual club drives from June to August.
Therefore, I am scheduling a drive on Saturday July 19th to
Augie’s Grill
in Prescott. Their address is

Gateway Blvd. Prescott
and phone number 928 899 7373.
We have eaten at their old location, and it is an excellent venue.
Photos and their menu are available at their website. They are located
in a big shopping center.
THE START
Meet at the Albertson’s complex, about ½ mile east of interstate 17 on
the north side of Carefree Hwy just east of the McDonalds parking lot.
There are restrooms, coffee, and snacks available at both McDonalds and
Albertsons.
We will meet at 9:45 and depart at 10:00. Our
ETA to Augie’s is approximately 12:15
It is about 2 hrs. from the start to
destination with fuel break and comfort stop. When departing Albertsons,
we will head west about 20 miles on Carefree Hwy 74, to Hwy 60/93 and
turn north to Wickenburg, it is about another 10 miles to Wickenburg on
93 where we will stop for a 15-minute comfort break at the
Shell station and convenience store.
We will not be stopping at McDonalds as we usually did in the past.
Depart on hwy 60 to the first traffic circle
and pick up hwy 93 and 89 north.
In
about
5 miles, hwy 93 will go straight to Kingman and you do not want to go
there.
Instead,
watch for the sign that says hwy 89 to the
right and take hwy 89 to Yarnell & Prescott, the correct route.
Once on hwy 89, you will pass through the
small towns of Yarnell, Congress, Peoples Valley and Willhoit,
Watch your speed through
these small towns. Continue on 89
through the Prescott National Forest (beautiful drive)
until you see
mile post 309. Almost immediately past it is
WALDEN ROAD on the right and then it is exactly ¼ mile farther to
Haisley Road
where you turn right.
Keep following Haisley Rd. the name changes to Senator Highway and then
again to Mt Vernon Ave. this will take you to Gurley Street where you
will turn right and follow it east until you see the junction in the
road where hwy 89 goes north and hwy 69 goes east.
Keep to the right so you can bear
right on to hwy 69 and follow it east to the restaurant address.
